Az OCZ két új SSD meghajtó sorozatot jelentett be, melyek 2.5 colos méret szabványnak felelnek meg és elképesztő átviteli sebességre képesek…

 

 
Az OCZ kínálatában rendkívül sokféle meghajtó található, melyek szinte minden hónapban újabb modellel bővülnek. A két új Vertex 2 Pro és Vertex 2 EX sorozatú meghajtó család a legújabb SandForce SF-1500 SSD vezérlő egységekkel vannak felvértezve és MLC memória cellákra épülnek. A Vertex 2 Pro 285 MBps olvasási sebességre valamint 275 MBps írási sebességre képes, miközben 4 kB-os véletlenszerû írási mûveletből másodpercenként 50 000 tud elvégezni. Ilyen magas IOPS mûveleti sebesség mellett nincs olyan napi feladat, mely túlterhelhetné a meghajtót.
 
A Vertex 2 EX sorozat testvérmodelljével szemben nem MLC hanem SLC memória cellákra épül, melyek lényegesen tartósabbak és a Pro modellel megegyező teljesítmény paraméterekre képes a meghajtó. Ezen felül az Ex sorozatban lesznek SAS csatolóval szerelt típusok, melyek már vállalati tároló megoldásokban is alkalmazhatók.
 

Az új Vertex 2 Pro és EX modellek ezen felül egy speciális ECC hibajavító rendszerrel is rendelkeznek, mely a RAID tömbök mûködéséhez hasonló védelmet nyújt akár egy teljes Flash memória blokk meghibásodása esetén is.
  
 
Az új Vertex 2 Pro és Vertex 2 EX meghajtók 50, 100 és 200 GB-os kapacitásokban lesznek elérhetők és 10 millió órás MTBF értékkel messze az egyik legmegbízhatóbb modellek a piacon, melyhez 3 év garancia és technikai támogatás is társul.

Pros: SpeedyFast Bootups are greatQuiet Cons: -I expected a more noticeable difference-Not very big Other Thoughts: While this game did little to improve FPS in games, load times and bootup times are great. Is it work the cost for just that? It’s debatable, as these things are expensive. I am just happy that mine has given me no problems so far, considering how many unhappy customers reviews I’ve been reading. I’ve owned it for about 4 months. If you want to put games on an SSD, I recommend going no lower than 120gb, especially if you play MMO’s. Goodluck.

Pros: pretty fast, evened out my system performance that had been hdd bottle-necked. Cons: RELIABILITY, expected at least several years of use based on the expected 2,000,000hr(228yrs) lifetime of the drive Other Thoughts: worked well for 7 mos and just quit. started pc and drive was not recognized. Will update if I have any luck w/support OCZ seems to be decent in that regard, part of what led me to purchase OCZ drive, but based on other reviews it seems this problem is not at all uncommon. Pros: The one I got was very fast, and it came with adapter brackets. Cons: They have switched to a smaller manufacturing process that makes these NOT the drives that were receiving 5 stars and Best of the Best awards- all without changing SKUs. Other Thoughts: I bought this drive in early January, just before the switch. My drive died on me yesterday, and I won’t know if I’ll be getting an inferior device as a replacement until I can plug it in and see the capacity. Not happy at all about a 5 month lifespan and the possibility of getting downgraded due to malfunction.
