Az Asus 1201K egy alapvetően érdekes modell, mivel egy szokatlan AMD architektúrára épül, mellyel nem sok netbook-ban találkozhatunk. A 1201K lelkét egy AMD Geode NX1750 processzor jelenti, mely 1.4 GHz-es frekvencián üzemel és 14 W-os maximális fogyasztása van. A CPU mellett SiS741GX/966L lapkakészlet található valamint 1 GB DDR1-es rendszermemória. A gépben 12.1 colos LED háttérvilágítású HD-Ready felbontású kijelző található, valamint a háttértároló 160/250 vag 320 GB lehet. A képernyő felett 0.3 megapixeles webkamera kapott helyet. A 6 cellás akkumulátorral rendelkező gép 1.46 kg-os és 296x208x33.3 mm-es.
 
A gépben helyet kap 802.11b/g/n képes WLAN és Bluetooth 2.1-es adóvevő, valamint egy VGA, két USB kapu és egy Ethernet csatlakozó, illetve MMC / SD memóriakártya olvasó.
 
A Seashell család eme fura tagja 47 Wh kapacitású 6 cellás akkumulátorral rendelkezik, ami a gyári adatok szerint 2 óra körüli üzemidőt biztosít. A szokatlan konfigurációból arra lehet következtetni, hogy a gép csak bizonyos piacokon lesz elérhető habár a megjelenés részleteiről, vagy várható áráról egyelőre nincsenek információink.

Ce que je ne comprend pas, moi, c’est comment peuvent il produire ce genre de processeur de nos jours! Ca leur coute sans doute plus chère que de pondre une architecture beaucoup plus simple et surtout gravé avec une finesse plus faible!La solution Atom coute pas si chère que cela! et elle consommera 10fois moins que ce vieux processeur!!Moi je comprend toujours pas ce qu’ils nous pondent…Répondre

I think not offering a linux version is too bad. Perhaps it is just pointing to a need to offer some better support for linux in the form of faster updates, more recently refreshed repositories and perhaps some more thought on which apps get installed out of the box. Says: One of the things that drew me to the Eee in the first place was that it shipped with Linux. While it may require a slight learning curve with unfamiliar users, I think Asus did a good job with their version of Xandros in regards to making it easy to use. Just because Windows is the most commonly used shouldn’t make it the standard.Mike Says: I agree with John. I have been using several distros of linux for some time,and think the problem is that linux software is unfamilair to the masses, so they think that linux is too prohibitive. Most don’t realize that everything that is done in windows can also be done using linux. I was excited about the fact that linux was being offered right at the oem level,but unfortunately popularity wins over quality once again.

No, u shouldn’t. There are plenty of alternatives if u want to go mobile. Furthermore u might want to use it to store music or video clips which will consume lot of disk space. 2GB would not be enough for u. It will not lasts for years and later u will jump up for another laptop. If u still want to go for Eee PC, u have to get an external pocket hard disk as a solution. But it would not be convenience for u as u need to carry more stuff anywhere u go. In addition i have 1 ASUS PDA phone and have a bad experience with it. It force me to go to their service centre 6 times in 2 months to fix a couple of problems. Still the phone not in a good condition yet.. U better go for another brand.Thats all my advice…

Je pense pas qu’il soit produit sur mesure. C’est un fond de stock racheté. Par contre la vraie question est « Quid du developpment d’une carte mere pour Geode dans un netbook.et la on peut se rendre compte qu’avec un logiciel de conception de circuit dans lequel on peut désormais imposer l’emplacement spécifique d’une connectique d’un cote et les éléments a intégrer de l’autre, on arrive desormais a modéliser une carte mère viable facilement.Des lors le schéma doit être du type :1 : On veut faire un netbnook cheap2 : On a dégote 2000 Geode pour peanuts3 : On regarde si on peut les intégrer dans un chassis 12″ EeePC4 : Ca marche on lance la prodComme Asus fait tout tout seul : modélisation, design, fabrication de la carte et intégration, ca n’occupe les chaines que quelques jours…Répondre
